Screaming, Crazy Fans

by Abbi Hawkins

The Hinkle Fieldhouse is packed, the crowd goes crazy every time butler makes a shot. It’s crazy! Everyone here is a hardcore fan for either Cleveland State or Butler.

On Friday, the 7th of January, a showdown took place with two very good teams. They have both done very good this season but Cleveland State had a bad night and didn’t shoot well, and Butler shot with ease. Butler, with a season record of 11-5 and 3-1 in the Horizon league, had a streak of points including two dunks to start off the first half. Cleveland State’s coach, Gary Waters, got very angry at the team and called a time out right away. Cleveland State stepped their game up and played a little better, but the ball was still refusing to go into the basket for them. The ending score of the game was 79-56.

There were some pretty exciting shots at the game. There were a couple of dunks that were pretty awesome, and lot of three point attempts but not all of them succeeded. The trick plays that Butler did were cool to.

Cleveland State is a decent team too, with a record of 11-1 and 4-2 in the conference. In regular season they are doing better then Butler, but not in conference matches. They have been playing pretty well this season, but on Saturday, they just could not pull it together. They had trouble with defense in the first half; But in the second half they did better. During the whole game they had a difficultly with shooting the ball. They just could not shoot well at all.

Over all, it was a great game with lots of screaming fans. It gave the whole basketball center a thrill of excitement. It was tough competition but Butler came out in the end with an amazing double-digit win!
