Goshen College men’s basketball team played with Bethel college at Gunden Gymnasium in Goshen College yesterday. Goshen was ahead most of the first half, but Bethel was ahead in second half.
There are some causes why Goshen did not do well in second half. Goshen’s two top leading players, Jeremy Pope and Matthew Martin, did not play well. They did not make lots of scores. Goshen shot 33 shots but they only made 6 of those. That is not good for them. The reason why Goshen was pretty much ahead in first half was Bethel was pretty much defensive. So Goshen could pressure on them, but in second half, Bethel changed their strategy to offensive. After they change it Bethel had a lot of stealings and Goshen could not follow them. For the other reason why Goshen did not do well is their the other good player, Austin Hefley who has third high points in the team, did not play yesterday game. I think the cheering effected a lot for the game too. Bethel cheered their team a lot, but I could not see Goshen player’s cheering.
Goshen had some hard times in second half. They turned over the ball a lot and Bethel scored a lot because of their stealing. Bethel scored a lot in second half but Goshen could not. So Bethel had much momentum on second half and Goshen did not have a lot of energy left.
Therefore, Goshen college had some hard times in second half and there are some reasons.
