scored Bethel their first win and left Goshen in the dust. During the game in Gunden gymnasium at 7:00 pm.,the game began with number #21 Carl Steen having a breakaway steal to go up for a dunk. After that Goshen followed up with several lay ups and kept them coming throughout the half. But Bethel followed up also shooting lay ups and short range shots. The game became even more intense each minute passing by, Goshen would score then Bethel would score and tie the game. By the ninth minute the score was 17 to 18 with Bethel leading the game. This game became a high energy and aggressive, but the referees were making bad calls every time the players tried to be aggressive with the other players. As the game was approaching half time the game was getting more and more intense, and soon half time came. The teams went in and kept the fans anticipating what the second had to come. When both teams came out the second half started of with Bethel holding back and concentrating on defense. They decided since Goshen was getting all of their shots from making layups and close range shots, Bethel cut off Goshen from getting short range shots and made them take far shots like three pointers. They tried it and it worked and Goshen kept missing the three point shots, horribly and ended up going 2/14 on three point shots. As Goshen’s three point shooting seemed to be getting worse, Bethel kept getting breakaways from Goshen and going up to shoot giving Bethel a relaxed lead by the fourth minute. As the game continued it seemed as all hope was lost for Goshen because Bethel had the game under their control. And to make matters worse the coach of Goshen received a technical foul for complaining about a call that was made. But then Mathew Martin from Goshen started the game again by making 1 of his 2 free throws and kept Goshen in the game by starting to come back. But Bethel did the same at the eight minute mark it was 44-58 but as the came to an end Bethel stayed strong and came out with the win 54-70 giving them a record of 1 and 3. But on the losing side things were different and Goshen was still left win less with a record of 0 and 3.
