Goshen's top scorer Matthew Martin failed to lead his team to victory, going 5 for 21 from the field despite being at his home court. Even though the Leafs had home field advantage they went 21 for 68 from the field and Bethel went 27 for 55 and 13 for 26 in the second half.
Goshen had 10 turnovers and got out rebounded 16 to 22.Goshen also shot the ball terribly the second half by going 7 for 28, that is shooting just 25%! Bethel then gained momentum by building up their lead and just couldn’t be stopped by Goshen College.
Bethel and Goshen have both been win less in their conference so that made this game very crucial because who ever lost would surely be in last place. Also Bethel and Goshen are big rivals which made both teams come out with outstanding intensity.
Bethel has swept Goshen off their feet for the past two game, and last time Goshen still playing the same game, they went 27 for 69 from the field, 39 % better then this year. Even with Errick McCollums 24 points could not lead Goshen to a victory.
The next step for Goshen is to keep their intensity going throughout the second half and be able to complete their plays. They need 1 player to step up and lead the team when their down, to bring them back in the game and build up their confidence so they can play better.
