Not Getting Easier

by Abbi Hawkins

“It doesn’t get any easier in the MCC” Said Goshen College’s coach after his team suffered a shocking loss to Bethel. The score was a shocking 56-70 and in eight minutes Bethel scored nineteen points and Goshen only scored two.

In the MCC or the Mid Central Conference there is a lot of competition Goshen is at the bottom of the list on the MCC tournament. There are nine teams in this conference. Goshen has a lot of competition in this for them. This means they really need to step up there game and not get kicked in the butt again. As said by Goshen’s coach.

As this game there were quite a few blocks and turnovers Goshen only hit 4 out of 28 shots from the three point line. “We just need to keep at it, be confident, and build some momentum” Goshens Coach Gary Chupp said.

In the first half of the game Goshen had a strong lead. Bethel was playing poorly. Bethel was letting them cut right into to lane and score a lot of two pointers. But in the second half Bethel stepped up their defence in the second half and their offence too. They started getting more and more points as the seconds were ticking in the second half.

Goshens coach later explained “I wasn’t please on how we approached the second half, Bethel came out with more intensity and kicked our butts and we took it."
